A year ago I was sitting in a pile of wrinkly shirts screaming to my roommate that I wasn’t going because “I had nothing to wear.” It wasn’t cute. But I wasn’t the first person to have a fashion induced meltdown with a closet full of clothing…right?

Just to make sure - I opened up Safari and began Googling “what’s wrong with me” and “I have nothing to wear.” The first few Google search brought me to Web MD (story for another time), but luckily the last one brought me some statistics.

The statistics were comforting, well comforting for me, because I realized I wasn’t the only person in misery. In fact, we are in a real fashion induced epidemic. For context, here are some stats I found:

    1. 46% of people try on more than half of their items before deciding on an outfit

    2. 65% say getting dressed overwhelms them

    3. 36% feel like they “have nothing to wear”

And my personal favorite:

    4. More than half of the US reports having "irrational tantrums" when choosing an outfit

I even read a study by the Daily Mail that says the average person “spends 6 months of their life choosing an outfit." I don't think the Daily Mail is a reliable news source...but hey I think they could be right about this one.
